Improving cycle parking facilities for schools in Dorset
For the 6th year running Lockit-safe have won the contract for Dorset County Council to provide cycle parking shelters for local schools. The project involves working in conjunction with Sustrans, who are funding the works.
For this phase of the project we were working across 4 sites, each with their own specific cycle parking requirements.
Weymouth College is a FE college and and have a large number of cycle users. We manufactured and installed a 40 Cycle Compound with Paxton access control system and lighting.
The Thomas Hardy School is a secondary school and we installed a 16 cycle lockable Hamble cycle compound for them, including groundworks.
At Ferndown Upper School, we had two areas to work in. In the first area we installed a 20 cycle Hamble bike shelter facing an existing shelter that was already on site. In the second area, we installed a stand alone 20 cycle Hamble shelter.
Each of the shelters were branded with graphics including the Sustrans and school logos.
