Since Lockit-Safe started trading in 1993, our business has grown to be a major player in the market supplying cycle parking projects for Local Authorities, schools and universities, major rail operators and large corporations.

We not only design bike shelters and cycle compounds, we also manufacture and install so have complete control of projects from start to finish.

How it all started

Like many great business ideas, Lockit-Safe came about after an event that highlighted a gap in the market. When a former directors’ daughters had their prized bicycles stolen from outside a Leisure Centre because, although they were locked together, there was nothing permanently fixed to lock them to, we set about inventing something that would do the job

A year later, with patents pending and much design development work carried out from a small workshop in Grimsby, Lockit-Safe achieved its first order for 50 Sheffield stands from a Local Authority. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength and is now a multi-million pound company selling to blue chip and public sector clients across the UK.

On the back of the success of our cycle parking we have increased the range to include cycle shelters, bike compounds, two tier cycle parking, cycle lockers and even walkways and canopies. Throughout this time the driver for the business has remained – how can the security and comfort for cycle users be improved? Whether it is new lighting systems or smart access control, Lockit-safe are always striving to provide innovative and tailored solutions.
