Lockit-safe have a long history of working with South Eastern Railway having worked on over 100 station installations since 2008.
At Elmstead Wood Station in Bromley is a busy commuter station just 10 miles from London Charing Cross and its cycle parking facilities were inadequate for the passenger demand.
OUR SOLUTION
Lockit-safe removed and recycled the old shelters and stands and replaced with two of our Winchester Two Tier gas assisted shelters. This gave the station a cycle parking capacity of 50 bikes with these two shelters plus an additional 12 stainless steel sheffield stands were also installed.
The project included the concrete foundations for the shelters, the installation of fencing and all the signage required for the safe usage of the two tier system.
The job took just 6 weeks from order to completion, with a week for on-site installation. As the installation needed to be done whilst the busy station was in operation, it required careful co-ordination of deliveries and works so as not to disrupt the station and its passengers, especially at peak travel times. To facilitate this we ensured that all deliveries took place outside of these peak times and also carried out some night works when trains were not running.
